...really began in 1998, shortly after I recieved Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I knew THE LORD was leading me to use my three years of part-time experience in website construction for His glory. As we know, baby Christians tend to have bundles of enthusiasm and no discernment. Without another word, I immediately built a website with no direction, no real ministry, just my very young testimony, some editorial comments, and some graphics. Like a three-year-old's drawing on the refrigerator, that didn't last long.
It was eighteen months later when THE LORD spoke again. While in St. Louis for my mother's passing, I found and attended a fine, small church by the name of Freedom Christian Center. Their support in that trying time was great, and I was moved to sow into their ministry. While THE LORD appreciated the twenty-dollar bill in the offering plate, He quickly made it clear He had something else in mind.
I approached Pastor Moore about a website for Freedom Christian Center. He was very receptive, and I soon had a website built for him. It was then that he decided to get a domain name, and I started researching how to help him there. After shopping around for a while, I decided on Christian Web Host. The smallest package they had was far too big for the Freedom Christian Center project, so I prayed over it some more, and felt moved to register a domain of my own, then register one for them under mine.
Pastor Willie then decided to make some changes in his website, and being webmaster for him, it fell to me to make those changes. I rushed to put a single welcome page up on DeclareHisPraise.com, then proceeded to update the Freedom Christian Center site.
After I had the Freedom Christian Center site up and running, I added few things to DeclareHisPraise. It was still an unfinished website, and remained that way while I concentrated on Freedom Christian Center and waited for THE LORD to move again.
He finally did, in December of 2001.
I got laid off from my job, and suddenly had all kinds of time on my hands. I spent the next month trying to learn and install Linux on my computer. Nothing I have done in computers confused and confounded me more in my life! When I realized that THE LORD moves in many ways, but confusion is not one of them, I consulted with Him again.
First He led me to a ministry in my own church, then led me to a man who would eventually be a contributor to this website. I finally had something to write about, and someone else to write, too. By mid-January, I could see what needed to be done, so I got rid of all that Linux stuff, and began to seriously pursue building up DeclareHisPraise.
What you see in these pages is the final product. Actually, it will probably never be done, but now it is finally up and running. Praise THE LORD!
